Kenny Rogers isn't just the subject of an upcoming exhibit in Nashville - he'll be on hand for the opening.

The singer is slated to appear at the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum for a special interview event in conjunction with the launch of "Kenny Rogers: Through the Years."  Displays will chronicle Kenny's lengthy, successful, and diverse career, which he began with an R&B doo-wop group nearly 60 years ago.

The Country Music Hall of Famer will share stories and memories spanning the decades, and give his audience further insight into his life and work.

The Kenny Rogers interview will take place at the museum on August 16th.  The exhibit officially opens on August 15th, and will remain up through June 14th, 2015.

Rogers' interview is also just one of several special events scheduled to mark the exhibit's opening.  On August 16th the museum will also host a "Songwriter Session" with Don Schlitz, who penned many of Kenny's hits including his signature song "The Gambler."

A special screening of "Kenny Rogers: Live By Request" is set for August 17th.  The 2001 episode of the A&E series features Kenny singing his hits and sharing the stories behind the songs.
